Moving house comes with a long list of things to sort, and internet is often one of the last things people think about, right up until they're sitting in an empty new house with no WiFi. A few small steps before moving day can mean you're online from the moment you walk in, instead of waiting days for a new connection.

Here's what to check off before you move.

  1. Check what's available at your new address
Not every property has access to the same connection types. Fibre isn't available everywhere, and depending on where you're moving, you might be looking at Fixed Wireless or 4G Wireless instead. Check our Coverage page to see what's available at your new address before you do anything else.
  2. Give us notice early
We need at least 10 business days' notice to arrange your move. The earlier you let us know, the better your chances of having everything ready to go on move-in day, especially if your new address needs a different connection type installed.
  3. Decide: keep your plan, or switch
In most cases, you can keep the same plan when you move. If your new address supports a different technology, like Fixed Wireless instead of Fibre, we'll talk you through the best option and confirm any changes before switching anything over.
  4. Book your install date
Once we've confirmed availability, you can lock in an install date. Just keep in mind bookings need to be made at least 2 days out from the date you request, so it's worth getting this sorted as soon as your move date is confirmed.
  5. Update your details
Log in to your Customer Portal to update your billing address and contact details, or get in touch and we'll update them for you. Worth doing this early so your first bill at the new address goes out correctly.
  6. Check your WiFi coverage in the new place
Bigger house, different layout, thicker walls, your WiFi needs can change with a new address. If you're worried about dead zones before you've even moved in, our Mesh WiFi add-on extends coverage to every room, including sheds, sleepouts, and garages.
  7. Don't forget the landline
If you've got a PureLink Landline attached to your internet plan, it needs to move with you since it's an add-on to your internet service, not a standalone line. Let us know as part of your move request so your number and calling plan carry over without a gap in service.

Moving is stressful enough without adding "no internet" to the list. Fill out our Moving House form and we'll handle the rest, so your connection is ready when you are.
